It takes more than knowledge of how to run a company in order to run one effectively. It takes a shift in point of view. Being a good performer, a good worker, is not enough. You need to be able to shift your point of view to that of an interested outsider, one who can see the business as a whole and understand what needs to be done in order to make it a success. True entrepreneurs know their job is to work ON their businesses, not just IN the business.
