Too often, we allow ourselves to be wounded by our critics and their observances about how we have performed. In truth, there are critics who revel in stating their criticisms in terms that will hurt us. However, the serious creator, whether they are creating art or business (or both), learns to listen to the critics, sort through and evaluate their criticisms, and then to make changes and improvements as necessary.

None of us are perfect. Everything we do can be improved. A good critic can be your best friend by pointing out the places that improvement might take place. So it can really pay to learn to accept, to embrace your critics and what they say. But never let the fear of what they might say keep you from making a bold statement or from creating the next great product or company. Learn to separate the critic’s own prejudices from your reality and from their valid recommendations. None of them is perfect, either. Think for yourself. Dare greatly–which means daring to fail greatly– and learn from the results, and move on to even greater excellence.

That’s The Wizard’s Way!
