During the interview I share insights from my next book, almost finished. The working title is The Wizard’s Guide to Building a Business as an Independent Performer or Speaker, which pretty much tells you what it’s all about. I’ve been managing and producing shows, first on and off Broadway, and for the last 25 years or so in the world of magic & magicians. For my clients Jeff McBride & Marco Tempest I’ve booked nearly $30 million in contracts, and the book shares a lot of what I’ve learned along the way.
In fact, most magicians don’t need a full-time manager, but they DO need to know the things a manager does for them. How to make sure they stay on the right side of the law, how to build a great team around them, how to create a product that fits a market… and much more. And I’m joined at the summit by some of the top performers (and top earners!) in the magic business. I know I intend to log in and learn as much as I can from the others. I hope you’ll join us.
