There are many ways to get a different perspective on something. You can try and see it from someone else’s point of view. Or from a different physical angle. You can make yourself argue against a point of view you actually agree with… or you can simply give the thing you’re thinking about a different name. Sometimes you can find one that is actually a synonym. Here, I discuss how we might feel differently about the idea of political correctness if we call it something else. Maybe “civility,” or, better yet, “compassion.”
