Logic is a filter which allows us to determine what is true from what is not. But it’s not a lot of use when it comes to creating the future. If you want to be a real change agent, you’re going to need imagination. But how do we develop our imaginative powers?
One way is to read. To read novels, to experience the most fantastic worlds and experiences that writers could dream up with their imaginations. Another is to re-activate your ability to play. when you were a child, play was easy. Make-believe was what you did best. You can do it again, but you must give yourself permission. If you have trouble doing that on your own, there are various places and groups who will help you. Renaissance Fairs, Cosplay events, Improv groups… joining any one of these will put you in the midst of a group of other creative players who will encourage you in your own efforts.
While you’re busy working on that imagination, don’t forget to have fun!
