We’re all in danger of this, today. Not just reading, but the process of getting all our thoughts from outside sources. TV, Twitter, Facebook, Wikipedia, podcasts, books (remember those?)… There is a whole universe of other people’s thoughts out there. If you decide to claim them as your own, at least take the time to fully examine them, to see if you can figure out the premises from which they were derived, and the logic that got those who thought them originally to reach their conclusions, and whether those things (premises, logic) are even valid.

This was the great secret of thinkers like Einstein and Richard Feynman. Question everything, and learn to think for yourself. Da Vinci was firmly dedicated to “learning from experience,” and not blindly accepting what he termed “second-hand knowledge” from outside sources. What can you question right now that might change your life? What do you believe that might “just not be true?”

Though “Question Everything” is a motto for The Wizard’s Way, just questioning isn’t really enough. You have to put in the effort to figure things out for yourself. That’s real power. That’s the Wizard’s Way!
